About

Truffle 1868 is a jewelry shop based in the UK. Has existed as a family-owned business since its founding in 1868 by Pintada Leonard. Today, Truffle 1868 business is one of the greatest grossing business units in jewelry, with a global reach of approximately 80 stores in roughly 80 countries.

Truffle 1868 is now run by the fifth generation of family members.

Objective

The goal of the project is to develop a new identity that can show elegance and luxury, glamour and prestige; to show the brand legacy through times.

The Outcome/ solution

Knowing that the brand came from 1860s, we carefully bring the Victorian-Style as the tone. We choose to play with typography approach by selecting elegant sans-serif typeface, through tight kerning, ligatures and proportional spacing to speak the brand timeless value and the continuity of a family legacy.

The Typeface

We carefully use a combination of serif typeface as the primary font and sans-serif typeface as the secondary font to gain the sense of traditional yet luxury.

Stationery

To complete the design system with careful consideration, we designed a stationery system to editorial which also express the Truffle 1868 brand tone and manner.

Art Direction

Brand collaterals and visuals we develop were directed into something which can speak the highly-craftsmanship legacy, through emphasises rough and dry textures to get the tactile, elegant but warm colour schemes, and photography with the Victorian-ish concept.

Packaging Design

To achieve shopisticated feelings and well-experience shopping, we designed a shopping bag with finest black matte quality paper combined with gold rope. The design of the box were crafted with high quality embossed on a high quality paper to speak the quality of the product.

Interface Design

We systematically designed a website that prioritize the user experience, so by stumbling upon the website, the user can feel the brand's tone and feel comfort and convinient.
